NERDIST INDUSTRIES
Nerdist is an entertainment website and brand known as one of the leaders in nerd culture. Built as an inclusive, positive place for thoughtful discussion of pop culture, Nerdist seeks to keep fans up to date on the latest news and deep dives into the fandoms we love.
As the Social Media Manager for Nerdist Industries (a division of Legendary Entertainment), I oversaw and guided all social strategies including paid media, channel growth, content strategy, sponsored campaigns, digital partnerships, talent outreach, and community management across eight social channels to an audience of over 7 million fans. I developed and executed the day to day management of Nerdist’s social media presence. Partnering with our editorial team, I planned monthly content calendars, brainstormed, curated, and generated ideas for shareable assets including native video for social platforms, infographics, photography, custom illustrations, memes, and more. Throughout the year, I represented the brand at various premieres, red carpets, conventions, and other live events for Nerdist editorial coverage including shooting, editing, and publishing video to social accounts. Lastly, I liaised with our sales team to conceive and write compelling copy for integrated social campaigns. My hard work and dedication to the brand expanded Nerdist’s social footprint and led to greater brand visibility, traffic growth, engagement, and a 60% increase in social growth across all accounts.
